The division of penile adhesions is a surgical procedure to eliminate penile synechiae, the abnormal adhesions formed within the penis. Adhesions can form between organs or parts of the same organ subsequently to a trauma or an inflammation. In the case of the penis, the possible causes include balanoblenorrhea and balanoposthitis. Balanoblenorrhea is the inflammation of the glans. Balanoposthitis is inflammation of the glans’ mucosa and the internal lamina of the foreskin. It may have a traumatic, chemical or infective origin.
